1. Introduction

In today's blog post, we will discuss about the cheapest and best upgrade for old PC making it capable of running lightweight games and smoothly running normal apps with no lag.


2. Assessments of current PC

The current PC has old Asus motherboard with Intel Core i3 2nd Gen which is a very old processor. It doesn't have any graphics card. It has 512GB SATA HDD with 4GB memory you can't do any gaming or normal Office work without lags.

3. Budget considerations

The budget which we are using is Rs 5000-/ This budget is nor very cheap nor very expensive. If you can afford this budget, you can easily upgrade your old PC.

4. Upgrade options

4.1 CPU Cooler

You can use any good CPU cooler for your PC. You only need it if your PC gets heat up or your cooler is not working.

4.2 RAM

4GB RAM is enough for lightweight gaming & normal work. However, if you need more you can have 8GB RAM.

4.3 SSD

You can use 256GB SSD. If you feel like you need more space, you can buy 512GB SSD.

4.4 Graphics card

You don't really need a graphics card once you have a good processor with integrated graphics. You can still buy a graphics card if you want to play heavy games, but it will increase the budget of the upgrade.

4.5 Power supply unit

You can upgrade it if your PSU is damaged otherwise, you should not spend money on PSU.

5. Installation tips

1. Connect CPU cooler with CPU using thermal paste and the connect it to motherboard.
2. Insert the RAM sticks near the CPU.
3. Connect SSD to hard disk wire present on corner of the motherboard.
4. Connet GPU
5. Connect PSU on the corner of the cabinet.
NOTE: I am not expert in building or upgrading PCs, so please watch another tutorial on building PC on YouTube.

6. Performance expectations

You can get better gaming experience and performance with this upgrade.
